Wreaths Across America
What began in 1992 with wreath maker Morrill Worcester placing 5,000 surplus wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery has grown into a nationwide tradition honoring our veterans. Since becoming a nonprofit in 2007, Wreaths Across America now coordinates millions of wreath placements each year.
In 2025 alone, more than 4 million volunteers helped place nearly 3.1 million wreaths at over 5,500 locations nationwide and abroad. Yet many veterans are still left without this simple tribute.
Locally, the Civil Air Patrol Vandenberg Composite Squadron 101 supports the Santa Maria Cemetery District, where 2,200 veterans are laid to rest—but only about 300 wreaths are placed. That means nearly 1,900 heroes go without. They are counting on us to help change that.
You may also choose to sponsor wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery—a place where our veterans walk in silence, often stopping at rows of white markers that mirror the friends they lost. For many, it is the most emotional moment of their journey. Knowing a wreath there was placed because of you—remembering, honoring, bearing witness—makes that moment deeply personal and lasting.
Wreath sponsorships are open now through December 1st. Wreaths will be delivered on Saturday, December 19, 2026. You are invited to attend a special ceremony at 9:00 a.m. at the Santa Maria Cemetery and stay to help place wreaths—an unforgettable way to personally honor those who served.
With your help, we can ensure no veteran is forgotten. Each $17 wreath is handmade in the U.S. and placed in honor of a fallen service member. When you sponsor through our page, $5 supports Honor Flight CCC and our mission.
